AutoGo does not own the cars — independent CarHosts list them. Your total is the rental you choose plus a service fee that scales down the longer you keep the car. Nothing is added after you confirm.
The daily rate the CarHost sets, multiplied by your rental days. Chauffeur and delivery options, if you add them, are priced separately and shown at checkout.
Supports secure booking, payment processing, customer support, verification, platform operations and dispute assistance. Charged on the rental only — never on a deposit or tax.
Kenya's 16% VAT is already inside the prices you see — it is itemised on your receipt, not added on top.
Refundable security deposit. Not charged at checkout — arranged with the CarHost at handover and returned when the car comes back in the agreed condition.
The percentage falls as the trip gets longer, and every tier has a ceiling so a long rental can never be charged an open-ended fee.

On a KES 40,000 rental the refundable security deposit shown is KES 8,000. It is disclosed at checkout so you are never surprised at handover, and it is not part of the amount you pay online. Some CarHosts waive it entirely — the choice is on the listing before you book.
On the same example, the 16% VAT inside KES 41,600 is KES 5,738. The total you pay stays KES 41,600 — the VAT line shows where that money goes, it does not raise your price.
Refund percentages depend on how far ahead you cancel. Every refund is reviewed and approved by the AutoGo team — none is processed automatically.

CarHosts keep 85% of the rental. AutoGo's 15% commission is deducted from the rental and covers payment processing, verification, marketing and support. It is never charged on a deposit or on VAT. Payouts follow the schedule in your CarHost agreement.
